Spartans Pick Up Another Win
"This was a hard fought battle the whole game against a team that was very well prepared and our guys found a way to win in the end," said Head Coach Shawn Sorenson of M State. "Shooting was the key tonight as we stayed hot from 3 and got some key baskets inside to seal the win."
The Spartans shot the ball well, hitting 52.6% (30-57) of their field goal attempts and connecting on 14-of-31 (45.2%) three-pointers.
Chris Tungseth continued his great play with 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Austin Miller led the team with 29 points and also contributed 6 rebounds, 2 assists and a pair of steals. Samuel Priem added 18 points, 6 boards, 6 assists and 2 steals. Isaiah Lemke distributed 5 assists and grabbed 2 steals, and Aaron Solberg had 6 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.
Ridgewater was led by Daviante Ostrander (25 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals), Niko Oliver (20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists) and Xavier Towne (16 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocked shots).
The Warriors hit 45.8% (33-72) of their shots from the floor and 6-of-16 treys. They also held a 36-31 edge on the boards.
M State will be hosting a Saturday double header against Minnesota West from Worthington.
