"We started this game with a lot of energy and played together as a team," said Head Coach Janice Hendrickson of M State. "We had contributions from everyone on both ends of the floor. I was very happy with the way we controlled the rebounds, out rebounding them by 34!"
Taylin Schleicher (19 points, 12 rebounds) and Kassandra Algarate (13 points, 10 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles for the lady Spartans. Sam Dahlgren added 14 points off the bench, making all six of her field goal attempts and both of her free throws. Claire Mathiesen and Samantha Lupkes led the team with 5 assists each. Lupkes and Macky Warne added 8 points apiece.
M State shot 39.3% (24—61) from the floor. Western Wisconsin Tech made just 31.4% (22-70) of their field goal attempts and 8-of-17 (47%) free throws.
Lexy Schroeder led Western Wisconsin Tech with 10 points and Kerrigan Lyga contributed 9 points and 7 rebounds.
M State (7-17, 3-8 MCAC South) will travel to Rochester on Saturday.
