Marty Earns National Player of the Week

Bailey Marty was named the NJCAA DIII National Defensive Player of the Week for the week of 9/20-9/26. This is the second time she has earned these honors this season.

The Chokio, MN native dug 108 balls in 13 sets, averaging 8.30 digs per set.  Marty also had 7 service aces last week, and in a win over St. Cloud Technical and Community College, she set a program record by digging 52 balls in the 5-set match.  Marty currently leads the nation in digs.

"Getting named the National Defensive Player of the Week once during a season is impressive, but Bailey has already done it twice now in the span of 3 weeks," said head volleyball coach Abby Crowser. "She is the most consistent player I have ever coached. She is outstanding in so many different areas of the game. Her serving is always tough, she's great on serve receive, she reads the ball so well on defense and she has good hands if she ever has to take the second ball and set up a teammate. She is a leader both on and off the court and keeps the team calm and focused in the most high pressure situations. She is very deserving of this recognition."
