Samuel Priem (25 points, 7-10 on 3's) and Joel Harris III (19 points, 5-of-7 on 3's) combined for 12 three-point field goals. Austin Miller added 17 points and two Spartans, Aaron Solberg (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Chris Tungseth (11 points, 10 rebounds) recorded double doubles.
M State shot 53% (17-32) on treys and made 48% of their overall shots. They also won the battle of the boards, 30-26.
Keonte Jenkins (32 points) and Al-jureau Ray (16 points) led the Raiders.
"The ball movement and passing was key to our victory tonight," commented Spartan Head Coach Shawn Sorenson. "When we share the ball like we did tonight the shooters get in a rhythm. Then down the stretch we took care of the ball with great decision making during their pressure defense."
The Spartans (4-6) will now face Rainy River on day two of the Central Lakes Classic in Brainerd. The game begins at 2:00pm Saturday.
