Tungseth set a single game record by making ten 3-point field goals. He also had the third highest scoring night in Spartan history with 46 points. He was 10-of-17 on 3's, 16-of-23 overall from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
"It was Chris's night and he led us the whole way," said Spartan Head Coach Shawn Sorenson. "Fun to watch him have such a great game. I was a Spartan fan tonight, cheering him on!"
As a team M State shot 54% and made 48% of their treys. They also won the rebounding battle 36-30.
Austin Miller scored 18 points and Aaron Solberg added 9 points and 12 rebounds.
Bryce Hempel led Mesabi Range with 20 points.
M State will close out the Spartan Classic with a 5:00pm game against Itasca on Saturday.
