Foday Sheriff led M State with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Yonis Mohamud and Akok Aguer joined him in double figures, scoring 13 and 12 points, respectively.
The Cyclones were led by Manni Ukutegbe with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Ibn Khalid had a double double (14 points, 10 rebounds).
M State (14-11, 6-5 MCAC South) will finish their regular season schedule on Saturday when they face Ridgewater in Willmar.
Rochester, St. Cloud and Riverland are all 7-4 and Anoka-Ramsey has ended their season with a 7-5 conference record. M State needs a win on Saturday to be in the running for a post season playoff berth. A loss will eliminate them. A win would put them in a tie with Anoka-Ramsey and the loser of the St. Cloud vs Riverland game, forcing a possible playoff game for the final spot in the MCAC State Tournament.
