Baldwin Scores 35 as Spartans Continue Great Shooting Stretch with Win at Willmar
Freshman guard Braylon Baldwin led the M State Men's Basketball team in Willmar on Saturday, scoring 35 points on 14-of-23 shooting, including 7-of-15 from beyond the arc, leading the Spartans to a 101-80 victory over the Ridgewater Warriors. Baldwin also had 6 rebounds and a pair of assists. The Spartans continued their torrid 3-point shooting, hitting 44.4% (16-36) of their treys in the game. They hit 48.1% (38-79) of their overall field goal attempts.
Leng Akol came off the bench to scored 15 points, making 5-of-8 3's. Tyson McArthur (14 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks) registered a double-double and Foday Sheriff (12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists) was also in double figures. Yonis Mohamud had a solid floor game with 9 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Mason Muir dished out a team leading 6 assists and Nate Vinson came off the bench to supply 10 points, 6 rebounds and a pair of assists.
DeAndre Holloway (25 points, 20 rebounds) had a monster game for Ridgewater. He was joined in double digits by Miguel Maloney with 22 points and Tyrese Mayo with a dozen. Keagen Shrider had a team high 6 assists.
M State takes a 24-2 overall record and a 9-1 MCAC Southern Division mark into their final home game of the season on Wednesday at 7:30pm against Rochester.
