Spartans Barthel Named MCAC Central Division Pitcher of the Week

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly award winners for the week of March 10-16.  Tyson Barthel, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota State Community and Technical College earned the MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor.

Barthel started one game during the Spartans Florida trip, throwing six innings, giving up no earned runs and only one hit.  He struck out 12 hitters and walked four, and gave up only one unearned run.  Barthel also hit .272 with two RBI and a run scored.
