Spartans Drop Twinbill To Century College

The Century College Ducks swept a Saturday double header from the M State Spartans, winning 3-1 in the first game and 12-1 in the second game. The Spartans fall to 2-5 on the season.
Game 1
The first game of the twinbill saw a pitcher's dual. Century was able to score two runs in the 1st and once in the 3rd to go on to win by a score of 3-1. Wyatt Hamann pitched well for the Spartans as he struck out three while just allowing three hits. Two of the three runs were earned against him. Kyle Doup drove in Hamann for the lone run of the game for the Spartans.
Game 2
The Ducks plated four runs in the 2nd inning to jump to a 5-0 lead and went on to win the second game 12-1. Justin Dykhoff and Michael Maanum doubled for the Spartans.
"I thought Wyatt really pitched great. Century has a really good ball club and we had a chance to tie in the top of the 7th in game one. The second game we just didn't pitch well enough to win." said M State Head Coach Grant Harding.
The Spartans will play a four game series against St. Cloud Tech on Saturday and Sunday.
