Spartan Baseball Team Wins One of Two Against Prairie State College

The first game Monday at the RussMatt Invitational in Orlando, Florida was a 13-11 win for M State over Prairie State. Prairie State turned the tables on the Spartans in game two, winning 11-1 to gain a split.

 In the opener, Mike Short hit home runs in the 1st and 4th innings.  M State had 19 hits with Beau Fetting going 4-for-6 (2 2B) to lead the way. Ben Monson, Eoghan Fischer, Jackson Martin, Short, Bryce Kruger and Logan Pulju had two hits each.

M State led 13-5, however, Prairie State scored five times in the sixth and added a run in the seventh to put the final at 13-11.

In the second game, Prairie State College won 11-1 over M State.  Martin took the loss (4IP, 8R, 7H, 5K).  Fetting went 2-for-3 to lead M State.  Morales (5H, 1R, 5IP, 4K) earned the win.
