Spartan Men Come Up Short in 80-77 Loss to Mayville State JV
M State hosted the Mayville State JV team on Saturday in a game that featured 7 ties and 7 lead changes with Mayville coming out on top, 80-77. Both teams shot 42% (30-71) from the field, but Mayville made 16-of-24 free throws compared to 11-of-16 for M State. Mayville State held a 51-38 advantage on the boards.
Leaders for Mayville State were Brandon Albrecht (23 points, 6 rebounds), Stevan Garza (16 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals), London Williams (13 points, 7 assists, 2 blocks) and Leomar Castillo (11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists).
The Spartans were led by Yonis Mohamud (24 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals), Akok Aguer (15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 4 assists, 5 blocks), Noel Kabanga (14 points, 8 rebounds) and Foday Sheriff (12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists).
M State (11-9, 2-4 MCAC South) will host Anoka-Ramsey on Wednesday night.
