Spartan Men Score 99 to Beat St. Cloud on Excellent Shooting Night

The M State Men's Basketball team shot 54% (32-59) from the field, buried half (11-22) of their 3-point shots, and hit 24-of-30 (80%) free throw opportunities on Wednesday night as they improved to 19-2 overall and 5-1 in MCAC Southern Division play with a 99-68 win over St. Cloud Technical and Community College.

Foday Sheriff put on a dunking and rebounding clinic, scoring 33 points, including 10 on 5 dunks, and pulling down 11 rebounds.  He also had 4 steals, 2 assists and a blocked shot.  Yonis Mohamud scored 17, had 4 assists and 4 steals, Mason Muir finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists, Javin Tindall came up with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, and Tyson McArthur scored 11 points, pulled down 5 rebounds and blocked 4 shots.

St. Cloud was led by 15 points from Goanar Tap, who completed a double-double by securing 10 rebounds.  Jack Boos (9 points, 6 rebounds), Xavier Jordan (9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists) and Romero Walker (8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block).  St. Cloud just shot 38% (27-71) from the field and 13% (11-16) from the free throw line.

M State (19-1, 5-1 LEC) will host Minnesota West on Saturday at 3:00pm at the college.
