Lady Spartans fall To The Blue Jays, 12-10 in the first game of a doubleheader in Worthington

the M State Lady Spartans fell to the Blue Jays, 12-10 in game one of a doubleheader at Worthington.  The Lady Spartans were without their top two pitchers for the day, so in game one they turned to Avery Knutson to pitch. She did a very good job of keeping the Lady Spartans in the game, going the distance, and really did a nice job of preventing big innings. Defensively, the Lady Spartans were much improved but missed a couple key opportunities to help Knutson out. The Lady Spartans have been able to score runs and Saturday was no different. They did have a 10-9 lead after four innings but couldn't push the runs across late in the game. The highlight of the game was a Maisy Hoefer two run homerun to straight away center. Kaisa Jones added three runs batted in and Keely Foley had three hits and scored three runs.
