20-4 Fourth Quarter Carries Lady Spartans to 56-49 Win Over Trinity Bible

M State overcame a 45-36 deficit after three quarters to defeat Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, North Dakota, 56-49 on Tuesday night. The lady Spartans scored 20 fourth quarter points and held Trinity Bible to just 4 points in the final 10 minutes to secure the road win, improving to 3-1 on the season.
Madi Foss (15 points, 15 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 blocks), Tenley Epema (14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists), Kaitlyn Olson (13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks) and Felicity LeBlanc (11 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals) sparked a balanced attack by the Spartans with Foss and LeBlanc each posting a double-double.
M State shot 36% (22-60) from the field. They were led by Olson (6-8) and Epema (5-8).
Trinity Bible connected on 23-of-70 (32.9%) field goal attempts in the game. Marlyssa Ledgerwood scored 18 points to lead the home team. Angie Soto registered a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while adding 5 assists, and Madeline Berkey scored 10 points and snared 8 rebounds.
Central Lakes College from Brainerd will be in Fergus Falls to face M State on Friday night.
