The Ridgewater women's basketball team made 9-of-22 (41%) 3-point field goal attempts on Wednesday night as the held off a fourth quarter rally to defeat the M State lady Spartans by the score of 59-55. The Warriors shot 45% (23-51) overall and placed four players in double figures.
Julia Hines made 4-of-9 3's and led the Warriors with 16 points. Nevaeh Rahm scored 15 points, Ellaina Bergstrom finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds, and Lily Dean had 10 points and a team high 7 assists.
The lady Spartans were led by Felicity LeBlanc with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. She also had 5 rebounds, 3 assists and a pair of steals. Madi Foss added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists, and Kaitlyn Olson had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. M State made 44% (22-50) of their field goal attempts.
M State had only five players available for the game so all five played 40 minutes. Foss hit a 3 at the buzzer to end the third quarter with the Spartans trailing 49-40. They fought all the way back to forge a 51-51 tie, but Ridgewater was able to control the final couple of minutes to get the win.
M State is now 5-8 overall and 0-3 against MCAC South Division foes. They will travel to Rochester for a 1:00pm game on Saturday.
