Spartans Host Golf Invitational at Pebble Lake Golf Course

Former Spartan Ellia Soydara, now playing for Dickinson State, earned medalist honors for the women with a score of 75. Soydara accomplished a 'three-peat' as she has now won the Spartan Invitational 3 consecutive seasons. In 2023, Soydara won the Spartan Invitational in record fashion, shooting an M State and Pebble Lake Golf Course record round of 66. In June, she won the individual national championship at the NJCAA Division III tournament in New York. M State's Katelyn Larson finished tied for 12th this year with a round of 94. Soydara's Dickinson State Blue team on the women's team event with a score of 313.
"It was great to have Ellia return with Dickinson State and defend her Spartan Invitational individual title," noted Retzlaff. "I don't believe we have ever had anybody three-peat at our event, so she continues to add more to the record books. We obviously miss her this season, but so happy that she has a great opportunity to continue her stellar career in Dickinson."
The Spartans will compete next at the Jimmie Invite hosted by the University of Jamestown on September 15-16 at Jamestown Country Club.
